NO MORE SHOWER HOUR AS BIG BROTHER AFRICA BEGINS SUNDAY

BIG BROTHER AFRICA, the reality show that began the reality show craze in Nigeria is here again. This year’s show is deemed ‘THE REVOLUTION’ and it promises to be different from past editions.

Amongst the notable differences are the number of contestants which has increased from 12 to 14, the increase in the winner’s cash prize from $100,000 to $200,000, the lift on the old rule banning conspiracy in the house which means that contestants will be free to forge alliances and discuss strategy openly”, and ……….

This will break most hearts……..

……..NO MORE SHOWER HOUR…..(fellas don’t cry)…..

In case you do not know, the shower hour is that time where the housemates are shown bathing and this has brought criticism from other parts of the continent, Nigeria Inclusive.

According to Multichoice Malawi Sales and Marketing Manager Chimwemwe Nyirenda, the removal of the shower hour marks the arrival of new things and also make the event more African.

In his own words, “This is just part of the changes which have been made and people should expect surprises in BBA Revolution. They want to make this year’s event more African.”
The countries participating in the BBA Revolution are Ghana, Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, Angola, South Africa, Uganda, Nigeria, Botswana, Ethiopia and Namibia (Mozambique and Ethiopia being the new entrants this year.)
We can recall that last year’s BBA III was won by Angola’s Ricco after battling it out with Malawi’s Hazel Warren.

E411 promises to follow the show and update you frequently.

KUNLE AFOLAYAN UNVEILS THE FIGURINE

While others take their time to give us ‘absolute rubbish’, some actually ensure that Movie lovers are kept satisfied. International filmmaker (and I mean that), Kunle Afolayan definitely falls into the category of the latter.Sometimes last year, when the actor, writer, director and producer hit our screens with ‘IRAPADA’ (a definitely refreshing motion picture), a great number of movie lovers were won over (I inclusive) and of the hope that Nigerian movies could be as good as it should get. The only doubt we had was how consistent he was going to be. Alas, Mr Afolayan ‘upped’ the game even further as his new motion picture ‘THE FIGURINE (ARAROMIRE)’ premiered at Genesis Cinemas, located inside the Palms shopping mall, Lekki, Lagos. Though the screening was for a private audience from the business community, a twitting bird informed E411 that the movie was way ahead of its pairs.

The synopsis of ‘THE FIGURINE (ARAROMIRE)’ shows that it’s a story of two buddies and a girl…….all down on their luck, who have their lives changed when one of them discovers a mysterious figurine in an abandoned shrine which according to legend bestows seven years of good luck, but no one told them about the next seven years……..

Stars in the movie include, Kunle Afolayan himself, Ramsey Nouah, Funlola Aofiyebi-Raimi, Tosin Sido, Omoni Oboli and a few others.

The movie was also used to showcase products and services as Glaxosmithkline, makers of Lucozade boost and MicCom Golf Hotels and Resort were a few of the companies that took advantage of the opportunity.

E411 will like to congratulate Kunle Afolayan, son of the legendary ‘ADE LOVE’, Late Adeyemi Afolayan on the successful premiere of the movie, thank him for making movies the way it should be and wish him many more ‘REWARDING’ movie making years.

A few pictures from the movie……..Enjoy

MONALISA CHINDA SUES HUSBAND FOR DIVORCE

The classic saying that ‘all good things must come to an end’ has once again been proven to be spot on as Top Nollywood actress Monalisa Chinda has finally confirmed that she is seeking a divorce from her husband. The actress who is mar

ried to a one time boss of Questionmark Records, Dejo Richard has also ordered her lawyer, Mr Festus Keyamo to begin the divorce process.

According to her hubby, Dejo, the light complexioned actress has been giving ears to bad advisers and is hell bent on tearing away from the marriage regardless of the fact that they just had a baby last year.

It can be recalled that Monalisa is one of the many Nollywood celebrities that just bagged multi-million naira endorsement deals with telecommunications giant,

Globacom Nigeria. While some believe the newly found wealth is playing a huge factor in the run of things, some say Monalisa is on the right track as she has endure Dejo for so long.

We at E411 say……..Nollywood is finally going Hollywood.

Ciao….

WHEN THE GOING WAS GOOD....

A SHOW OF SHAME……….

It is no more a guarded secret that the self acclaimed “egberipapa 1 of bayelsa”, Timaya and the overly endowed Nollywood actress, Empress of the Njamah family have something going between them. The gist is the show of shame that was displayed by Timaya at an Alakija, Lagos based church, Praise Resurrection Ministries a.k.a Jehovah sharp sharp ministries (lol).

Keri Hilson said ‘When Love Knocks you down, just get back up’, but she forgot to add the fact that it becomes a Show of Shame if you don’t.

The latter was the case when our dear ‘Timaya wey don blow’, sauntered into the church and disrupted church proceedings while demanding the keys to his Nissan Xterra jeep from his estranged lover, Empress, who was present at the service.

Speculations have it that the ‘DEM MAMA SOLDIER’ was of the inkling that his lover would be getting married to someone else on that faithful day, thus he moved to save face and also salvage some of his properties before his beloved Empress leaves him ‘high n dry’.

If you think the “scrotal touching with the award plaque episode” displayed by Timaya at this year’s HipHopWorld Awards (HHWA) was an embarrassing moment, then you need to think again…..

E411 scooped that it was a messy scenario while it played out, but if you are not satisfied with the cookies we served you, dive straight into the Kitchen and serve yourself, visit: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2009/08/28/timaya-attacks-empress-njamah/comment-page-5/?wpmp_switcher=mobile

THE TENANT TEASER

Ask me about a movie I am so salivating to see right now and ‘The Tenant’ my answer will be (thank God I saw inglorious basterds yesterday….just kidding…). The movie, released under the umbrella of Broken Menacles was written, produced and directed by Jude Idada and Lucky Ejim, two Nigerian emigrants in Canada. Also on board the director’s train is Dare ‘Baba Dee’ Fasasi who was co-director of this multiple award winning movie.

The movie that bagged the Audience Choice Award for Best Feature Film at the Hollywood Black Film Festival 2009 and the Best Feature Film at the Moving Image Film festival 2008 Toronto Canada is billed to premiere at the cinemas in Lagos sometime in October, 2009.
The movie tells the tale of the average African emigrant in search of a better future for himself and his family: Obinna, a Nigerian refugee in Canada, faces deportation in 30 days. When all hope seems lost, a chance confrontation with Timothy, his terminally ill landlord, provides him an opportunity to remain in the country. Timothy who is a former immigration officer makes him a deal; he will intervene in his pending deportation if Obinna finds his estranged daughter Nicole and convinces her to see him one last time before he dies. With the
clock ticking, Obinna fights to save his dreams, in the course of which he stumbles on a discovery that will shake the very foundations of his beliefs.

The official premiere of ‘THE TENANT’ would be preceded by a screening of the movie to the online blogging community on the 16th of October, 2009. For additional information about the movie, visit www.thetenantmovie.com.

Ciao.
